Joining the DCPA
Membership is open to all. The annual subscription is £5 for individuals and £8.50 for family membership.
If you want to find out more or to become a member please contact any of the officers of the Association who will always be glad to help.
Archive Project
Each play produces a lot of material which is already of interest and likely
to become more so as time goes by. The list of items is a long one and includes the text, where it has not been published, programmes, budgets, correspondence about funding, the venue etc., press reviews, designs for costumes and the set. Academic research into community plays is being carried out and material of this sort is a goldmine for those doing this work. It will also in time tell its own story about the community and how it responded to each play.
The Association recognises its responsibility to ensure that copies of all
items likely to be of interest are collected together and safely kept.
Already some material is lodged at the Dorset History Centre. Currently a group of Association members is working to bring the archive for the last
five plays fully up to date.
If you have any items from previous plays that you no longer want
please contact us first before you throw them away. They may fill a
gap in the records.
